Kat Richardson, Greywalker
Roc (2006) ISBN: 0-451-46107-X
Score: 2
Start of the Greywalker urban fantasy series, about a PI who (after being dead for a couple minutes) develops the ability to see and enter the Grey, a realm halfway between the mundane world and the paranormal. She is not happy about this new power, especially since it acts as a magnet for all sorts of paranormal monsters. It may also be responsible for her two new cases: one involving a group of vampires, the other a necromantic artifact. Good characters and pacing, and the Grey looks pretty interesting though we don't learn much about it in this book.
Next Book: Lois McMaster Bujold, Beguilement
