BL: Children of the Serpent Gate

A somewhat sloppy conclusion of the Tears of Artamon trilogy. The characters never really gained any depth, and the plot and pacing were very disjointed and contrived, due to a lot of jumping around in place and time (which was not only confusing, but I'm not sure if it's even possible to construct a consistent timeline of events). And with the author pushing things around so much, the characters ended up being in a constant state of surprise at whatever was happening at the moment, whether demonic possession or a sunrise. I don't regret reading it, but I wish it had been written by a more sophisticated author (Robin Hobb would be a good match for this story).
