The Webcartoonists's Choice Awards were announced today in an online ceremony which is cute, appropriate, and damn slow on dialup. It also has a bad link between the Artist and Writer categories and no links for the runners-up (and many of these comics have common names, and one you have to misspell the name before Google finds it).

First comic listed is the winner. Bold are ones I follow, italics are ones I don't care for. Links go to the archives or first page (so you don't get spoiled by the latest comic).

Thanks for the update!

FWIW, if you haven't checked it out recently, Smithson might be worth another look -- they've redone the tech that was so irritating at its inception (with non-obviously scrollable panels that made it nigh-unreadable), and the plot is developing nicely (and I think the second artist is better than the first, but maybe that's just me) into a "supernatural stuff atat a college campus, with heroic protagonists" one.

I also follow Freefall; 'sgood.

I never had any tech problems, I just didn't care for the art style. When did the new artist take over?

Mid chapter three. (Bob Stevenson (Chapter 1 Page 1 - Chapter 3 Page 24), vs Brian Moore (Chapter 3 Page 25 - present) ).

I do like Moore's work much better than Stephenson's -- as I found when I re-read the series recently. Though he does have his moments (but then, Moore draws, like, hair).

I also follow What's New and Buck Godot, despite having read and bought (lost my Bucks over the years) them years go, but they don't quite count, since there won't be new content for some time, I expect.

Yeah, they probably aren't eligible for awards like this (though they're new to me). That list was mainly "stuff I recommend that hasn't already been mentioned above".
