I woke up this morning to see snow on the ground. We sometimes go for years without seeing snow, and now we get it in March??
Yesterday's Dallas Morning News had an editorial about primary early voting in my county (Collin) being 60/40 Dem/Rep. This may seem remarkably even, considering McCain is a sure thing already, but consider that here (in the "reddest county in the reddest state" according to DMN) we aren't represented by any Democrats at all, at any level of government. It's been literally decades since the last time a Dem was elected to any county office. Two years ago, when the rest of the country was busy replacing Reps with Dems, only 12 Democrats bothered to run in the 48 races listed on my ballot, and that's still twice what I saw in 2004. And those few brave souls who dare to challenge the Republican incumbents always do so by claiming to be more conservative and supportive of Bush.
