Jacqueline Carey, Kushiel's Mercy
Grand Central (2008) ISBN: 0-446-50004-6
Score: -1
Conclusion of the second Terre D'Ange trilogy, in which true love saves the day even less subtly than in previous books. The main conflict comes from the bad guys subtly but thoroughly altering years worth of memories of everyone in a city in a single night. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate it when authors mess with characters' minds? I also felt the various schemes (bad guys' and good) weren't thought through very well, but that's a lesser quibble. It is a solid conclusion to Imriel's life story and the conflicts caused by his existence.
Next Book: C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp, Hunter's Moon
