Second half of the Lighthouse duology, in which everything is revealed and resolved. While I liked the characters and plotting and the writing was very good, I never reached the point where I needed to find out what happens next (which is why it took 2 weeks to read).

First half of the Lighthouse Duet, an epic high fantasy story about a drug-addicted runaway sorcerer who seeks sanctuary in an abbey only to find himself in the middle of a conspiracy to save the world. The ending is as abrupt as you'd expect from half a story.

Start of the epic fantasy trilogy, the Bridge of D'Arnath. While it is nice to see a thirty-something widow as the heroine, the frequent flashback scenes interrupted the flow of the story (and some of them turned out to be dreams reminding her of things she'd forgotten). Most of the characters were well done, but the villains were made of cardboard and the characters helping them didn't have good reasons to. Not sure if I'll read the other two books.
